My Destiny

Today is my middle child's 22nd birthday! And so I included a picture of us. My son will be leaving for Iraq in about 3 weeks and I thought it would be fitting for to make my first blog about my own destiny, since he is facing his. I know this sounds odd, since I'm 45 years old, some of us love to make positive change no matter how late (not really) in life it is!
Here goes my destiny:
My destiny will be guided by my questions. My path, probably off the map. My future is right here - right now, and I will seize the day, for tomorrow never really comes. No matter my destiny, my conscience will be measured by my ability to sleep at night and by MY God alone.
I am purposed to serve; for when I posses the least of things yet serve my fellow human, I am the happiest. I am Hope!
The benefit of wisdom (code for age) is understanding that the more I know, the more I realize I know nothing. This zest for knowledge will always serve as a beacon to guide my destiny. It is also enough to understand that nothing is without purpose. WE MATTER, and when separate, you and I, there is no balance in this world. But, together we create the ultimate balance. For where there is balance there is unity. And again, WE MATTER!
As a child I always asked questions, why? why? why? And I was always in trouble for my eager curiosity and lack of submission. Tortured for years by my inability to control the word "Why!?" from leaving my mouth, I finally have grown to understand that I was made to be me. I was created with purpose, to ask those hard questions without fear of consequences.
I only fear one thing, I fear the day I fail to open the door of unknown possibilities. I fear NEVER asking Why, especially because someone said I shouldn't!
There was another label I was given quite frequently, on every report card is more like it, "Daydreamer!" I can proudly shout to the world that year after year I got an "A" at being a dreamer! AND I WILL NEVER STOP DREAMING! Hope was intertwined in the threads of my very being upon my creation! I dreamed about it when I was little, being valuable and important to life. Being someone's hope, someone's beacon, someone's something that brings change!
Time has also granted me the privilege of witnessing people rising to the occasion where there is hope. So when you dream, dream big, hope big, and change will be bigger.
My mission, my destiny, is to be a beacon of light that begets change, I am hope, I am change, It starts with me!
I will live to serve and I will die happy!
I am hope, I am change, and It starts with me!
Dare to dream big, and together we are hope, we are change and it starts with us!
I will live dreaming of the hope that you and I, united, will bring change by serving human kind, knowing that all matter in life and our today's make the future, allowing generations to come to hope bigger, to dream bigger, and to do even more than we have.
WE are HOPE
WE are CHANGE
SEIZE THIS DAY
Love Dawn
